4400 Freeze-ups after PRL update

My 4400 freezes up completely after a *228, 2 PRL update.  It passes
through the "Download OK", then "Commit OK, Programming Successsful"
screens, then, finally it says "Please Wait! Phone is resetting" and hangs.
The backlight remains solid on, and it's unresponse to any buttons.

Firmare is v08.  PRL indicates 50110 which is current I think.

I have to remove the battery to turn off the phone.  Works fine after that.
Customer service told me to do just that -- take off the battery.

Previously when updating PRL's, the phone actually did power-cycle
on its own, so I am curious as to what people might think.

TIA

Mine did the same thing, if you wait it out, it will reboot. Did seem like
forever though, at least 3-4 minutes if I remember right. But my second
phone rebooted right away, also a 4400. I thought it might have something to
do with me hacking into the phone with gagin and bitpim because I used them
alot with the problem phone.

With some firmware versions, the phone will take a VERY long time to
reboot if you are using wallpaper that isn't one of the builtin ones.

Mine did the same thing, version 08 firmware.. But it also resetted after a
few minutes of being left alone.

Thanks for the replies.  Using your suggestions, I just left the phone
alone and, sure enough, it does reset after about 2 mins.    I do have
custom wallpapers all over the place and I have been using bitpim to
manage my entries, etc.   v06 of the firmware recycled instantly on
PRL updates (even with my wallpapers, etc.)  Looks like v08 takes
more time, but it does eventually recycle.

Probably a small bug in the firmware.

Thanks again.
