TM/SMS stopped working

Nokia 3589i.

My text messages just plain stopped working. Nothing coming in via
vtext, nothing comes in when I do the #646 call, nothing when another
cell on the same plan sends a TM.

I called a CSR and she said I should just get my phone flashed. That
doesn't seem to make sense, it had been working just fine before middle
of this week.

Anyone else experience these problems with this phone?

You may want to call again and make sure your account doesn't have sms
messages blocked, that is exactly what happened on my phone when I got sick
of being charged 2 cents a message and had it turned off.

The CSR didn't do any troubleshooting or have tech support to see if
the SMS had been blocked in the switch?  Call back from your home phone,
tell them what's happening, and ask if somehow the messaging could be
blocked in the switch.  Tech support can check it and reset it if it has,
and you'll be good as new.  Things can get changed in the switch sometimes
for no apparent reason, and this may be one of them.
