It probably doesn't matter that Verizon doesn't seem to want to
compete head to head with the other carriers instead they rely on good
customer relations. But with some of the charges they have added
recently, which I understand allows customers to "out" of the term of
the agreement without the $175. charge, they better start to meet
competition or lose customers.
First it was T Mobile, then Sprint, who changed the definition of the
weekend by extendiung the FREE time. Now it is AT&T who is making
changes; Verizon offers 1000 minutes of mobile to mobile included but
AT&T goes one step further...
The following announcement appeared in the industry news this
afternoon:
"AT&T Wireless Offers Free Mobile-To-Mobile Calls
On Feb. 6, AT&T Wireless plans to launch a new calling plan feature
that will enable subscribers to call mobile-to-mobile at no charge"
Come on Verizon, give your customers a little more for their money.
Great service and good coverage is nice but lower rates or more FREE
stuff is really a better incentive to stay.

Yeah, but with AT&T, you're still saddled with the still growing, but
hardly complete, "Next Generation" GSM network. I'm assuming this
offer is only on the GSM network.
And...you could wait roughly until, say, Monday, when VZW is widely
rumored to be unveiling the very same thing...unlimited M2M calling
under the new name "In-Network".

It's not a rumor.

Wow, makes me want to run right out and change providers... except for one
little minor detail....they (at&t/cingular/tmobile/sprint etc don't have
service where I live and work, what good is unlimited if there is nobody to
talk to?)

Well, it should lower your monthly costs what with no one calling you
and you not calling anyone!

Only if you routinely use more airtime than your monthly fee pays for, in
which case you should use a plan with more minutes anyhow.
