I just ran over my LG VX10 with my car : ( and now I need a new phone. I just looked on Verizon's website and the LG VX4400 is $280!!! and they no longer have the LG VX10. Good luck! PS: I have to agree with you that $3.95 a month is a lot for insurance on a phone that you might have gotten free. PPS: Double check that any phone you get was on verizon, unlocked :-) and comes with at least a non DOA warranty. I have replaced two phones through Asurion insurance. They are crap refurbished junk. The insurance policy is only good for 2 replacements and then the policy is terminated. I have had to send both phones back for connectivity issues. Asurion is a pain in the a.s to deal with. The phones that they send out are warranted for 6 months. You are better off going to Ebay. I have bought 2 LG TM510's 2 LG VX1's and 2 LG VX10's. Don't get caught up on the bidding frenzy. Buy only from someone that will ship via UPS or FEDEX, which you can track. I rolled my Jeep Wrangler down an embankment off the Interstate. It rolled 6 times. Everything inside the car was bouncing around, including the vx4400 I had clipped to the visor. The car came to rest on it's side, all windows broke out. It was laying on my vx4400. I lifted up as hard as I could, kicked the phone out from underneath the car.
