I had the 8900 model for 6  months and it only dropped 1 call in 48 hours of
talk time. I switched that with another person for  a brand new 4500 which i
have now. Love the speaker for driving but has already lost 2 calls in less
than 2 hours talk time. Aside from the 8900 having a bad speaker and a low
res camera, the phone really did well as a phone. Maybe it is just the
signal in my house.

IMO the 4500 is sub par on reception compared to the other LG phones.  I
have had a few complaints on it.

well it could be that the calls that did drop were in my house and it is
none for a bad signal. no problems driving though, great signal and truly a
good speakerphone that i am able to use while driving. The only bad part of
that is if i forget to shut it off i may answer it in a store and have to
switch it off real quick otherwise i sound like a nextell user.
