Earthlink, formerly Mindspring, is my ISP. My e-mail addresses are all Mindspring, not Earthlink. I am able to download my e-mail OK but not able to send any. Apparently I need to change my outgoing mail (SMTP) server settings from mail.mindspring.com to something else. Does anyone know what that might be? Don Contact Earthlink support. I suspect that you will have to change your smtp server to Earthlink's. I'd try smtp.earthlink.com and mail.earthlink.com if you just want to give it a shot before calling. Many ISPs restrict access to their outgoing mail servers to their own network IP addresses (source address must be in their IP address range). Of course, you have to configure the email program to input the id & password. Note: The id part should be your full email address. The post by Leo is correct. You need to go to your Account Setup in Outlook Express (or whatever your using. It costs nothing to sign up. I don't know if they require that you be signed up in order to be authorized to use smtpauth.earthlink.net Al Sorry.
