I have a motorola v120c phone that is having a much harder time picking up
"digitial cells" than it used to. It is probably about 2 years old, battery
seems to be fine.

The phone works fine, but just doesn't receive strong signals in areas where
I think it used to. Could be a change in local service, but others don't
seem to have the same problem.

Any suggestions?

We've got the same thing going on, although in our case it's about 6
months old.  The local Verizon store switched ours out for a new
phone, which helped for a few _weeks_, then it started having problems
again.

I've come to the conclusion that the Motorola 120 series is a low-end
phone that doesn't do well over time or in fringe areas.  (My wife was
manning a booth in a remote area; one of the other people had a
Motorola v60.  The v60 had a signal, the v120 didn't, and they even
tried each others' locations just in case they were in a narrow hot
spot .)

We're going to switch to another phone.  From what I've seen on the
boards, LG or Audiovox seem to be good choices for both strong-signal
and weak-signal areas.
