I stopped at a local VZN store to have them upgrade the software for my
LG VX7000.  They couldn't do it because they didn't have the cable from
manufacturer available for it.

This upgrade has been available for  more than a month from the
manufacturer, but Verizon locally is blaming the manufacturer for not
providing cabes for the process,

They could be stalling. They are good at it. When the techs are not
interested in doing something it is easy for them to come up with a
lame excuse like that.

Call *611, ask for a supervisor and tell him/her what you were told
and what center told it to you.

Is there a reason you want to upgrade your firmware? If there are no
issues with your phone I strongly advise against upgrading your
firmware. More can go wrong than right.

I took the upgrade for my 7000 a few months ago without any problems.
Most of this upgrade was invisible ironing out bugs. One thing they
fixed that bothered me was that 2-5 second delay when answering a call
before the party would here you. That's gone now.

Does that mean that the upgrade for the VX6100 is available? I have the
"volume bug" also. Is there a site for me to check on availability.

Thanks,

I called LG about a week ago and they said it wasn't released yet and
they couldn't tell me when it would be...said I'd have to contact
Verizon for info...

This site is up to date on upgrades available and none there for the
6100 yet:
