Anyone know when Verizon will offer the Motorola V260?

And how much it will cost?

I found info at Motorola web site but no info yet (other than a cust
service type telling me that they plan to offer it) on the VZW site.
Looks like a neat flip package without any video/camera or
whistles/bells but a neat functional design.

You can Get It Now at Radio Shack -- from what I understand, VZW-owned
retail stores will not carry the V260.  It appears that you need to purchase
it via a reseller.

It is a great phone. A V265 without the camera. GREAT reception, audio,
speakerphone. I have one and really like it. They are supposd to bring out
changeable covers for it, but not available yet. You can find it at many
agents stores and on Ebay.

Quick question for you since you have one: Is the connector on the
bottom (for power and "signal") the same as on previous Moto phones
like the V120, etc. series (I would call it the Moto standard
connector)?

Yes, it is. Motorola has been kind enough to standardize their charging and
communications port on their phones.

I could live without this sort of kindness.  The Moto charging connector
is a disaster.  There is no wiping action when the contacts mate (just
points striking a flat surface).  Small bits of dirt can cause problems.
The latching mechanism is also very finicky.  When I hook my V60i up to
the charger (directly to the cable, or to the desktop dock) I often have
to try several times before I get a good connection.  If the connector
is not inserted correctly, the phone can discharge instead of charging.

I've been through three V60i samples, and they all did this.  Several
techies at Verizon and elsewhere have commented that "they all do it".
