My phone (motorola v60s) was stolen yesterday. I have another 5 months on my
contract and I don't want to lock myself into another year or two contact.
So what are my options for a cheap phone no subject to a contract?

Check with a VZW company store and see if they'll sell you a refurb cheap.
Otherwise, look on Ebay or post a WTB here.

Looks like they go for $50-100 with shipping on ebay. If you want to go for
very cheap and don't use PTT then a Nokia 5185i is less than $20 with
shipping. As with any used phone ask for the esn and check with verizon C.S.
to make sure it's not also a stolen phone and they will activate it before
you buy.

Push to Talk / Walkie-Talkie , often used in the speaker phone mode to allow
large numbers of people to hear, then beeps which indicates the person can
talk. This half duplex conversation is favored over speed dial delays to get
a full duplex phone call.

Ebay, thrift stores ect.

I have a very nice one (5185i), along with a bunch of Verizon StarTacs.
Email me if interested.
