Midis transfered as ringtones too quiet (VX6100)

My wife and I recently picked up the LG VX6100 phone, along with the
Mobile Office Kit, and after transfering several midi files to use as
ringtones (latest version of BitPim), we discovered that the volume on
these newly transfered ringtones is much too quiet to be of any use.
I've tried adjusting both the volume of my rings, as well as fiddling
with the volume of the midi file itself, to no avail.  The midi files
have a good volume back on the PC, but almost silent on my phone.

What gives?

And thanks, in advance!

I've got the same phone, and use the same software that you used...  but I
don't have that problem.  While they aren't as loud as the MP3 "midi" files
that you can send to the phone, they're still at least as loud as the midi
ringtones that come pre-installed on the phone.  I know that doesn't help
you, but at least this lets you know that not all LG6100s have the same
problem.  Good luck.
