I believe you may be misunderstanding what the Dr. is saying.  He isn't
saying you can get MOU billing on the treo in the sense of no additional
charges save minutes.  He is saying you can subscribe to data as pay-per-use
at 1.5 cents per kilobyte, or $15/megabyte.  Bear in mind that not using any
data under this scenario costs you nothing.

So as he said, if you simply want the PDA, and phone, without data, you can
get it without an additional monthly fee.

PS- as a diversion on this topic:

I still find Verizon data pricing unreasonable.  Note that Verizon sales
people two years ago were telling every customer about the included high
speed data option.  It was "fishy" then, only because it has never been
mentioned on the website.  Note that I got permission to use 1X data for the
cost of minutes (no addl fee) in writing from our Verizon rep.  And, no I
don't expect this to grant me unlimited included data, but it should reverse
the charges once if I get billed for data down the road-- as it would be a
clear change from past policy on the matter.

So much of what we use on our plans is never promised in writing anywhere--  
even basic things like coverage area can change over time as preferred
roaming partners are changed.  It's crappy that the normal party line about
included data changed.  The sales folks shouldn't promise features simply
because of the way they are currently billed.  Verizon promised this two
years ago, so systematically, that I believe it was intentional.  i.e. Get
them hooked on data, then later make them pay.  Anyway, if you spent time in
Verizon stores two years ago, called 611,etc. literally every rep you spoke
with would promise this feature when asked.  It's very clear to me that the
company policy changed to better suit their revenue needs. By the way, I do
realize data is expensive to provide, the error was virtually every sales
person promising this feature to begin with, and allowing the "error" to
exist for going on 3 years.  This gives customers like me years of billing
statements showing no charge for data.  And yes, I am aware at some point it
can simply change.

Apologies for typing in the dark: this is a 650 note, and I made a typo: The
Treo 650 is what I have on order.  (I have no knowledge of a 750, sorry).

Also, I explained how "I" keep, and recommend to others how to keep, data
per-use on an existing/current vZW line of service; vZW does not "tell me"
how to work around their computer systems or revenue sources.  To be fair:
(although vZW is under no obligation to be fair) this is because I/we/they
have had the per-use data on our line(s) already and want to keep it without
paying MORE for less from vZW.  It would be un-fair to try this on a new
line of service, as they don't offer that per-use promo anymore.   dr
