Replace LG4400 with ???

We've got two LG4400s that have been great.  Very happy with voice
quality, ease of use, features.  One of the LGs has started acting up
a bit (vibrates twice *then* rings so calls are missed).  So we're
considering moving to another phone.

Not sure if LG is still at the top.   I tried Moto V60 years ago and
it was terrible...very poor reception and voice quality compared to
the LG.  But a knowledgeable friend says his Motorola performs much
better than his LG (not sure which LG).

I don't want to trade off anything for the sake of fancy features, tho
I'm starting to think a camera would be nice.  I'm in NYC if that
matters.

Any recommendations?

Consumer Reports rates the Motorola E815 at the top for Verizon. I've been
pleased with mine so far. Battery life & range are excellent (much better
than the LX4400 it replaced). My only complaint is that the sound is a bit
low for using outside. I'm hoping the bluetooth device I ordered solves that
problem.

I just replaced my 4400 with the VX-4650, and it seems to be
working quite well.

I'm also happy with my 4650.  Functionally it's very similar to the
4400, with the addition of speaker-phone.  For the things that matter to
me -- weight, ergonomics, battery life, sound quality, reception -- it
does very well, generally better than the 4400.  I don't use the
speakerphone much, so I can't say much about that feature.  From a
design perspective, I think it's a fairly attractive little item, more
so than the 4400.  But not the prettiest phone I've ever seen.

I used the LG4400 and LG4600 and replaced them with the Moto E815.
IMHO, the E815 is a superior phone.  Better ability to hold a signal,
better audio quality, high resolution screen, good speakerphone.  The
Moto E815 is premium priced, but well worth it.  I use my mobile phones
in NYC, NJ, as well as other areas in the USA and Canada.  The Moto
serves me well in all areas. For reviews, check out phonescoop.com.

Another Motorola option is the V325.  It's a more mid-level phone than
the E815 (and priced as such) with a lot of the same performance.  It's
also tri-mode (which the E815 is not), if that matters at all to you.
I just replaced 2 4400s with V325s and couldn't be happier.

How do you find the screen on the Motorola E815 to see in full sunlight? Is
it better than the 4400? (which is terrible).

I just replaced a 4400, which I used for 2 years, with a Motorola
E815.  The 815 has much better reception and I am able to hold calls
from home without dropping them like the 4400 would do 40% of the
time. At home I only had 1 bar with the 4400 and get 2 bars with the
815.

I don't think the LG4400 is acting up. The vibrate twice and then ring is a
ringer volume setting called "Vib and High".  Try changing the ringer volume
back to High or some other settings. Press the side key a few times with the
flip open.

Of course, if you really want a new phone, this is irrelevant.
