S.F. dude - 16 Feb 2006 23:39 GMT How long does it take to get a phone when you order on-line. I know people that started new service and had their phone the next day. I check my order status and it says, "We received your order, check back tomorrow."
They already charged my credit card, why does it take so long to get a box off the shelf and put a label on it? Is there something more?

EJ - 16 Feb 2006 23:53 GMT Have ordered on-line twice. Both times received phone in 2 days. Send an email to PI-OnlineOrders@HQ.VerizonWireless.com (be sure to include your order number) and request the shipment tracking number. Check that number online with the applicable shipping company (i.e.; UPS, Fedex, DHL) to see where it is.

Or some other outfit?
I've done two online transactions with VZW in the past and both times had the phone either the next day or the day after. Also, if I remember correctly, they didn't have me put it on a credit card, but on my regular phone bill.

In every instance where I ordered from Verizon Wireless Online, the options were *what* credit card I was using. Amex, MC or Visa I have never in all the years with them seen *bill to your regular telephone*

Maybe check account.

S.F. dude - 18 Feb 2006 00:36 GMT Still nothing, I check the order page on the web site and everyday it says, "We received your order, check back tomorrow." I called the 1877 number and the person on the other end read me some crap off a sheet of paper. When I have ordered over the phone I would get it the next day. (Accessories and a phone) when the office next to ours ordered a phone they had it the next day and he was suprised because he ordered it in the evening.
Is there something more to this then walking over to a shelf, picking my phone box off the shelf, possible entering the data into verizons computer, sticking a label on it and waiting for the evening pickup?

Maybe you should see how the office next to yours entered their order?

S.F. dude - 18 Feb 2006 02:01 GMT I have wanted to but the guy is hard to catch (we both do this thing called work.) To pocess the phone it shouldn't take a week.
My old phone is old and the last time I dropped it, it came apart. I was able to get it back together, exceot for the direction keypad but it wont last too much longer. I have been very disapointed with Verizon's selection of phones, having to wait and then getting a numb robot reading a statement off a card instead of trying to help me.

Call back, you may get someone who cares.

Is there something more? In November, I ordered late on a Sunday night. As of Wednesday morning, the web site still said that. Wednesday afternoon, it said it had been shipped. It arrived Thursday. Friday morning, the battery hadn't fully charged yet, so I didn't activate it. When I got home late Friday night, the online activation didn't work. I tried again in the morning, then called the number for help and a nice lady activated it for me. The first time I tried *228-1, it failed, but it worked the second time.
I can't answer about the credit card, as this phone was free, but two years before that, I walked into a store and got a phone and they charged it to my VZW bill the next month.

S.F. dude - 23 Feb 2006 23:55 GMT Ordered on the 14th in the morning, arrived today the 23rd. Far too long to wait for an on-line order. I was talking to the FedEx guy and he said that everything gets shipped from Texas to some state up north (forgot what he said) and then to its destination. He couldn't give me anymore details.
I guess they closed the Tampa shipping office?

EJ - 24 Feb 2006 02:42 GMT Have always received my on-line orders in two days. Maybe it's just where I live in the Midwest. Anyway, go to FedEx.com and entered the tracking number. It will give you all the details of where product was shipped and all the stops along the way.

I ordered a 58" Wind Chime online Wednesday evening at 6:30 PM. Standard shipping UPS Ground from Omaha, NE. When I got home (Wichita, KS) on Friday at 4:45 PM it was here waiting for me.

It's waaaayyy cheaper than cell phone service, and in many cases is just as effective...:-)

(Wouldn't you love to live next door to the 58" wind chime?)
I'm sure what he/she meant was that they ordered a ringtone that annoys everyone by sounding like a 58" wind chime.
S.F. dude - 24 Feb 2006 12:59 GMT I do most of my shopping on-line, never have a problem, unless item is back ordered which I am informed about. My previous orders from verizon have been there in two days. this time it took ten, with no explanation. Very disappointed with this transaction for many reasons.
