Unlimited text messaging?29 Jul 2003 04:07 GMT1
I recently asked a sales slug at a kiosk if Alltel had unlimited text
messaging like Suncom, and they said yes. I didn't think much of it,
the data bursts for the 160 characaters has to consume less than 1
minute of compressed speach. Compared to me dialing into my modem bank
Make It  Roam25 Jul 2003 15:40 GMT9
I have a Nokia 5185i on Alltel in Canton, OH. At my house, I get a
poor signal on the home network. However, when it goes to roaming, I
get a great signal. I have no roaming charges ever, so I want to
know if I can hack this phone so it will always go on roaming.

I am in the wireless business and handle most of the nations top cellular

Why is it that Alltel (and Verizon) don't offer Nokia phones, at least

Emergency Plan12 Jul 2003 19:16 GMT2
Does Alltel offer an emergency plan?  With some providers it's not
advertised but available.  I'm not talking about prepaid plans.

Can I buy a V60i phone from another vendor and use it on alltels
network? I assume I would need a CDMA version, but could I program the
number and go? Or would I need their assistance.

Does anyone here know an easy way to check how many "anytime" minutes you
have remaining in the current billing cycle?
A quick google search of this group and the alltel website didn't turn
anything up for me.  Thanks for any help.

Alltel can't.  I'm on alltel national freedom.
