Does anybody else think ATT is by far the worst ?30 Nov 2003 07:07 GMT6
I know everybody has their their wireless horror stories, we have 3
different carriers in our household and by far ATT GSM is the worst
and their service is poor, here is my quick list of things to back
this up.
ATTWS and off shoring of IT jobs.29 Nov 2003 18:12 GMT1
If anybody actually cares about this kind of stuff you should
understand that ATTWS is one of the biggest offenders of offshoring of
IT work in the US. Just read alt.computer.consultants some time for a
perspective on how AT&T Wireless is reducing expenses by making
Lost my unlimited nights and weekends and they won't give it back.29 Nov 2003 15:22 GMT18
Well I left the country for 3 months and decided to back my rate plan
down to avoid the monthly
charged. At no time was it explained to me that if I selected the
$19.99 plan I'd lose my promotion.
NEWS: Number Portability Hits With  A WHIMPER, Not The  BANG !!!29 Nov 2003 03:08 GMT11
Sorry for delay in getting this posted. It is hard to type and pat yourself
on the back at the same time. But I also will say I am not going to change
form a Back Pat to a full Back Rub, not yet!
Cell-Phone Customers Are No Longer On Hold.
Using own ISP as alternative to mMode/T-zone/etc...29 Nov 2003 00:10 GMT7
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to use my own ISP instead of the
carriers GPRS network as an internet provider with either a cell or a palm
type handheld.
For example

ATTWS Roaming - does your phone tell you??28 Nov 2003 21:24 GMT9
I have a local plan in the Detroit area, and our calling area does stretch
into some of Ohio.
Spent a weekend at a friends wedding, and kept using the phone like normal.

Billing for Photos28 Nov 2003 17:35 GMT1
How does AT&T bill for sending photos?  Is it part of the Internet package
or text/MMS messaging?
Thanks!
CallPlus Global PCS28 Nov 2003 17:32 GMT13
I'm looking at activating a phone with a very basic plan for my mom to use,
as she does not need it except for emergencies and other urgent calls to
home. I was reading a website about CallPlus Global PCS, which apparently
offers cheap prepaid plans on the AT&T TDMA network. It ...
Would ATT Buy the Brooklyn Bridge?28 Nov 2003 15:32 GMT5
Or did it already do that with its new software that may well put it out
of business, or at least cause it to lose tens of millions of dollars in
sales this holiday season.
Anyone know who ATT's software vendor is? Or how many heads are rolling?
Anybody use 6340 on ATTWS?28 Nov 2003 06:12 GMT3
Has anybody tried using (an unlocked) Nokia 6340 multiband phone on
the ATTWS?  I currently have a T62u which will not work in TDMA areas;
it will not log onto the network and will only allow me to make calls
using a credit card (on the "American Roaming Network").  Thanks,
ATT GSM vs. other GSM carriers28 Nov 2003 03:23 GMT3
I've been very loyal (and happy) with ATT on their TDMA network;
regardless of what others say, I've traveled all over the US and
always get a signal.  That's just my experience, fwiw.
Now I want to go GSM for various reasons.  Is there any compelling
Coverage in Southern California27 Nov 2003 20:00 GMT12
Happy Portability Day!
Well, after a long battle with AT&T and getting them to break my
contract due to a) coverage and b) the lack of support available to
all GSM customers since Nov 1, I have finally one and they have voided
Thank you!!!27 Nov 2003 18:30 GMT10
I just want to thank whomever approved WLNP.
There's nothing holding me back now. I have finally taken my number to
another provider. Goodbye ATTWS' stinking CS and good riddance!!!
3 days to wait until the number is transferred to my new service. Quick and
What new ATT phones and When? Only GSM with 850?27 Nov 2003 14:01 GMT4
I'm still trying to find a suitable replacement for my t68i.
As always, ATT tells me that they will have a slew of new phones this
quarter. And, as always, they can't tell me one model number.
I've been wanting to replace my phone for 6 months or so, but I've not found
