ATTWS coverage in rural areas03 Nov 2003 13:22 GMT14
I am very interested in buying the new Treo 600. I know that Sprint is
offering Treo 600 right now but Treo 600 CDMA is a single-band phone.
This means that it won't work in rural areas that have analog
coverage. I prefer phones that support analog coverage even if data
I need a phone to replace my palm03 Nov 2003 11:54 GMT11
I'm thinking of upgrading phones.  Currently I have a Nokia 8390 but I'd
like a phone that combines some features of my palm pilot.  My palm pilot
is mostly used for contacts, calendar, and Vindigo, which is an
entertainment service that gives me restaurant reviews, locations, ...
TDMA or GSM in Manhattan?03 Nov 2003 08:41 GMT5
Hi all. Soon to be signing up for ATTWS in Manhattan and need some advice.
Everyone seems to agree that TDMA coverage is a lot better than GSM
overall, especially outside of urban areas. But I'll be using my phone
almost exclusively in Manhattan so coverage outside of that area is ...
Locus Mobile (CallPlus) Rant (long)02 Nov 2003 06:22 GMT4
I tried to sign up with Locus Mobile prepaid cellular in order to take
advantage of their flat 25 cent per minute rate. A reply to an email sent to
Locus Mobile many months ago assured me that I could get a local number here
in Silver Spring, Maryland. So after I bought a Nokia ...

ATT doesn't allow roaming on Cingular.02 Nov 2003 01:37 GMT35
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and I bought a Nokia 3595 Go Phone
to try the ATT GSM network. The service is not as good as Sprint's.
There are several places were you're supposed to get signal but you
don't and I also had dropped calls. ATT doesn't let you roam on Cingular ...

New coverage in northern illinois.01 Nov 2003 23:29 GMT2
The maps don't show it but i thought i might pass it along. There is now
complete coverage on I-88 and I-80 from the chicago area to the quad cities.
You can roam on T-Mobile for parts of it but is not needed. Kudos to them
for adding the coverage.  I was able to keep a call from ...
help me locate my phone!01 Nov 2003 23:26 GMT2
Well, my wife's phone.
Last year when her phone went missing I was able to call ATTWS and the tech
person was able to tell me the last phone call location.
Now for some odd reason I am being told they never had that ability at all
When phone reads "AT&T" are you on the Network?01 Nov 2003 18:40 GMT6
I know we revisit this issue every now and then but I have a question.
I traveled to Rochester, NY this past week.  In areas the phone read
AT&T I thought it was on the network.  I also heard on here that there
is TDMA coverage in Rochester, NY.  I decided to call *611 and ask
