| Cingular-AT&TWS combined Cellular map posted | 23 Feb 2004 00:44 GMT | 22 |
I have updated my site w/ a map depicting the conglomerated Cellular (800/850 MHz) license holdings of Cingular-AT&TWS, if the merger were to be finalized today. Combined Cingular-AT&TWS PCS (1900 MHz) spectrum is not reflected at the moment, though that may become a

| What effect on Suncom will Cingular deal have? | 22 Feb 2004 19:23 GMT | 1 |
Assuming the Cingular purchase of ATTWS goes through, how will the affiliates (e.g. Suncom, Triton PCS in the southeast) be involved? Will the existing plans (their "UnPlan") be honored?

| "Expanded GSM Coverage" | 22 Feb 2004 17:39 GMT | 3 |
I just got a letter from ATT saying to go look at their map and see their new expanded coverage. It does mention what additions they've had, and sorry, even though I am a bit of a geek, I don't have a map in my head of all prior locations versus all new locations.

| GSM coverage in Austin area? | 22 Feb 2004 11:29 GMT | 3 |
Any experience with ATT GSM coverage in North Austin, specifically the Georgetown area? I have the TDMA 1-rate and want a national plan, but the 1-rate is too pricey for me. Cingular has an equivalent for less, for example.

| Coverage change timeframe? | 21 Feb 2004 23:01 GMT | 5 |
I've read the ATTWS/Cingular merger will probably not be complete for 10 months. this almost certainly means billing systems and call plans won't be integrated until then, but does anyone think that the coverage areas might be combined earlier via more robust roaming agreements? ...

| ESN check for reciving SMS | 21 Feb 2004 03:51 GMT | 6 |
I've noticed that the ESN is not checked when receiving sms mesages, they will go to two different phones if they have the same phone number programed. The ESN is only checked on voice calls and sending sms. I don't expect sms or voice to be secure but this is too easy.

| Question about proprosed Cingular/ATTWS merger | 21 Feb 2004 01:19 GMT | 18 |
If the above merger takes place, what happens if I'm talking to someone while connected to an ATTWS cell site, then I move into the coverage of a Cingular cell site that covers a hole in the ATTWS coverage? Will I lose the call as the phone switches from the ATTWS tower to the ...

| ATTWS Execs to be rolling in money. | 20 Feb 2004 17:08 GMT | 1 |
In the fine print. All options vest upon closing of the merger. So the Execs that drove ATTWS into the ground and forced it to be bought out (and lose jobs for most of its employees) will be rewarded with tens of millions of dollars thanks to Cingular bidding up the price to

| Could Wal Mart Bid for ATT WS? | 20 Feb 2004 11:22 GMT | 12 |
It would not suprise me beings how Wal Mart seems to be in about everything these days. Think of the great synergies here- phones and plans sold at Wal Marts all over North America- no need to have high rent stand alone stores- just a booth in each Wal Mart and Sams. And you can bet ...

| Account Skippers ARE DEAD??? | 20 Feb 2004 03:38 GMT | 2 |
I just wonder about what a co worker told me today. He stated that he too is an ATT customer and, like me was a Cingular customer at one time. But when he left, he left an unpaid bill with Cingular. Stated he does not even know how much. I told him that he'd better pay it because ...
