ATT 3G deployment11 Aug 2004 00:31 GMT7
Interesting how leaving out one word in a newspaper article changes
things. A news brief in the San Jose Mercury News business section
(www.mercurynews.com) on July 21 stated that (quoting)
ATT Wireless began offering the first 3G network services in the country
IM Choice Thoughts10 Aug 2004 18:15 GMT4
Anyone with strong feelings about either of the IM providers (AIM or ICQ)
that interface with the Nokia IM phones?
I've stayed away from them as a rule and have made it policy for most of my
clients but there isn't a decent public web interface for sending SMS like I
/H. What's this?10 Aug 2004 18:09 GMT6
When I transfer my SIM card from phone to phone (ATTWS T637, V600,
3595 IM), all phone numbers on the SIM show up as something like
"Smith, Donal/H" and the H has nothing to do, apparently, with "home."
Why does this happen? How to fix it?
With merger, which one?  Cingular or AT&T?10 Aug 2004 16:16 GMT4
With the merger, does either one matter with regard to coverage?  Or
should I just be looking at pricing and contracts between the two?

It's August10 Aug 2004 02:05 GMT37
Ok -- I am without a contract and am waiting to get a new phone and to
switch from TDMA to GSM. When might be a good time to do this
considering the impending merger? Previously someone suggested August.
I am looking obviously for the best deal possible.
Changing calling plans without penalty?09 Aug 2004 17:24 GMT4
Does AT&T allow you to do this? Such as switching to a national plan for
just one month while on vacation?
Upgrade from Nokia 336008 Aug 2004 23:38 GMT11
I need to get a new phone. What would be a meaningful upgrade from
Nokia 3360 I had?
Prepaid SIM for Traveling to Europe?07 Aug 2004 15:32 GMT4
Does anyone have any suggestions how and where online I could purchase a
prepaid sim card for traveling in Europe?  I have an unlocked NEC 525 with
attws.  Most of my 2 week stay will be in Greece and Italy, If all else fails I
will add international roaming on my account for $5.99 ...
should I switch from vzw?07 Aug 2004 06:06 GMT6
I've ben on verizon for four years. Switched from attws - tdma - because
of the coverage. Now I'm lloking at attws again.  I travel nationally.
So US coverage and voice quality are my criteria. I aleady have an
unlocked gsm phone with local sim cards for my international travel.
GSM in Petoskey, MI??07 Aug 2004 02:05 GMT1
Anyone know if there is GSM coverage in Northern Lower Michigan,
specifically from Traverse City to Petoskey to Mackinac?
I use ATTWS using TDMA and get good coverage in those areas but my older
Startac phone which I like is starting to fail. Since that area is an
Stunned by ATT Wireless billing practice07 Aug 2004 01:53 GMT10
I'm in NYC and a recent ATT bill included a $24. charge relating to a
call placed from and to NYC. The charge was for "Romer usage while in
Buffalo NY". Buffalo is almost 400 miles from NYC. Surely, I thought
this was some sort of computer clitch...However, when I called to
ATT Wireless and Subsidy Password?05 Aug 2004 15:15 GMT3
I am currently a Cingular customer and have been for a very long time
and have only had a few instances with poor customer service.  I
Recently renewed my contract getting one of those Samsung X427.
Worked fine until it was dropped on the floor and then kicked into a
Oops factor: How do I complain to FCC?05 Aug 2004 04:42 GMT4
In the last 10 months, there have been at least 5 errors on my ATT
bills.  They added extra features that I never asked for, such as
international dialing.  When I changed to a different plan, they tried
to charge me for both my old and new plan.  I added a couple of lines
So how is ATTWS GSM service - really?04 Aug 2004 16:55 GMT15
I am in Upstate NY (Syracuse area) and have been using T-Mobile.  I need GSM
for international travel and really only want to have one phone and one
number.  T-Mobile has pretty good international roaming, but marginal (at
best) service in the Upstate area.  Now that ATTWS has ...
Upgrade Fee04 Aug 2004 15:17 GMT21
I just bought a new phone for a net cost of $50 (after rebate). I was
suprised to find a $15 upgrade fee on my next bill. Customer service
told me that it is charged when changing phones. Since I was never told
about this at the AT&T store they removed the charge. When was this
