1900 GSM only after Merger?04 Aug 2004 07:19 GMT4
One of my phones that my MIL uses, a Nokia 5190, its 1900 GSM only. I
believe that Cingular will sell off the 1900 spectrum as duplicating its 850
network. Assuming that am I going to get a free replacement? I signed up for
that free phone every year, the deal they had in April. I ...
Removing Scratches from Phone04 Aug 2004 07:05 GMT3
I scratched the plastic over the screen on my phone. It is not part of
a replaceable cover. I have tried using Bluemagic Plastic & Plexiglass
Cleaner but there are still fine scratches visible when the light is at
the right angle. Has anyone had success in removing all scratches ...
cingular or att?04 Aug 2004 05:46 GMT24
I am leaving verizon and need to get on a GSM service due to
international travel.  Also I travel greatly in US, so good reception
in a single state is not that important to me, but the overall picture
is.

Any Company But AT&T Wireless04 Aug 2004 02:21 GMT10
I have finally had it with AT&T Wireless. I have been a customer with
them for over five years now and I'm at the end of my rope. Back when
just my wife and I had phones we were on their TDMA network and all
was well. The calls were reliable and the phones lasted *forever*, but
T616 in Italy -- no luck03 Aug 2004 19:50 GMT2
I was advised that I could use my T616 (AT&T) in Italy, but it didn't work. I
had the phone unlocked, and tried both WIND and TIM cards. I was told that
the phone was "blocked" for Italian  networks. Huh?

My family and I went from Portland OR to Crater Lake over the weekend.

ATTWS GSM Coverage in Los Angeles02 Aug 2004 18:14 GMT9
I was on ATTWS TDMA for years until I switched to GSM a couple weeks ago.
Here in the far western San Fernando Valley (West Hills, Woodland Hills) I
have been very happy with coverage.  In my area Cingular, T-Mo, Verizon and
Nextel have spotty/poor coverage, but ATTWS is solid here ...
GSM coverage in West Virginia????02 Aug 2004 06:41 GMT5
I am heading to central West Virginia this weekend for a little family
reunion. I noticed on gsmworld.com that there is an 850 carrier there
called Easterbrooke Cellular. When I went to their website
(cell1wv.com), I noticed that they are somehow tied to CellularOne,
GSM agreement with T-Mobile now?01 Aug 2004 06:03 GMT6
I know GSM handles Cingular and AT&T towers, but I heard in another
forum there have been some agreements with T-Mobile??
Can anyone verify this?

ATT contract01 Aug 2004 03:19 GMT1
I purchased a Samsung V206 phone with a new ATT contract last April and I
must say that I am completly disappointed by the service. There are so many
dead spots in my area despite them telling me that my area is covered. Maybe
it's just my phone but I can not put up with this for ...
