mMode / Instant Messenger question22 Sep 2004 01:48 GMT1
If I subscribe to mMode and use AOL IM or Yahoo IM through mMode, does
that count as "data" transferred, or as SMS / Text Messages sent (.10
cents each)?  The website seems a bit ambiguous about that.
Thanks.
Shitty AT&T Wireless...bye-bye...move to Verizon22 Sep 2004 00:57 GMT13
What another lame a.s American company with regard to customer service.
Christ, what is this country coming to?  Is everything measured by
short-sighted, buck-driven behavior here.
Scum service and scum people. Period.

What Will Happen to AMPS in 2006?21 Sep 2004 04:55 GMT6
I was talking to a Verizon tech the other day and he told me that the only
reason they keep AMPS up is because they are mandated by the FCC to do so until
2006. He seems to think AMPS will die after the mandate ends.

GSM vs. CDMA in California20 Sep 2004 06:51 GMT21
I currently have two months left on my AT&T TDMA service (Nokia 6360 phone)
and I am looking to jump ship or try AT&T's GSM service.
What do you folks think of AT&T's GSM in Southern California, for Orange
County in particular? What about T-Mobile's service in the same area? How
ATT WS performed well during TS Ivan19 Sep 2004 21:59 GMT1
I carry 2 phones and the ATT phone was up and working the whole time. My other
phone died as soon as it got damp but that is because of the phone and not the
service.

Hello to everyone in this NG:
I am new to alt.cellular.attws but not new to usenet. I have a NEC

access usenet with the restrictions of mMode. I was able to find the
No analog fallback on TDMA in Philly17 Sep 2004 06:52 GMT3
I've been seeing my TDMA phone read "No Service" when I am in dead spots in
Philadelphia.  It does not fallback to analog.
Anyone know what gives?  Has ATTWS reprogrammed TDMA phones not to go to
analog in some areas?
LG 4015 Battery Life16 Sep 2004 16:21 GMT1
I just switched over from TDMA to GSM and purchased 2 LG 4015 phones a
couple weeks back.  While reception is excellent, I've noticed battery life
on these phones isn't anything like advertised.  Seems they need to be
re-charged about every 3-5 days with no other use except ...
Sony Ericcson T61616 Sep 2004 05:20 GMT2
Is the SE T616 considered a world phone? Will it work in Europe, Asia,
Caribbean, Latin America? With 800/1800/1900 networks I'm not sure which
work where?
Thanks for any info
Nokia 6360 Security Code16 Sep 2004 02:26 GMT3
I am trying to block a number and need my security code. I don't
recall ever changing it from the default which I understand is "12345"
This code does not work.  Any ideas on how I can "crack" or change
the security code?
how to use free2go voicemail?15 Sep 2004 22:39 GMT2
My new free2go phone says I have a voice message, but when I try to hear it,
it says no inbox number or something similar. What should I do?
I went to AT&T wireless web site for help. It won't give any help unless I
enter my phone number, so I did. In return, it says "unable to ...

Does attws still have tdma/gsm phones ? What are the current model/s ?  I

those rare occasions when i don't have gsm.

Free2go activation on Mitsubishi t250 ?14 Sep 2004 16:49 GMT3
Can this multi-mode TDMA phone be activated for free2go service?  I've
had no luck with two calls to the ATTWS sales number.  After I give
them the phone's ESN their system shows that it's a pocketnet phone
(Pocketnet is their long dead CDPD datanetwork). The first rep said
