Policy for International Roaming (Voice? Data?)28 Feb 2008 21:50 GMT1
* Anyone know what  the policy is of AT&T and other carriers about
international roaming? I know Cingular used to require that you ask for
International Roaming for Voice. I think AT&T does that as well. But what
about Internet cards and GPRS/EDGE and such (Blackberry devices?)
Can Apple Patent the Pinch? Experts Say It's Possible28 Feb 2008 16:05 GMT4
http://www.wired.com/gadgets/miscellaneous/news/2008/02/multitouch_patents
Is pinching proprietary? We may find out in the coming months as many
companies, inspired by the success of Apple's iPhone, release their
own multitouch-enabled laptops, smartphones and tablets. In doing so,
iPhone now a lawsuit magnet - now over incoming call display28 Feb 2008 15:57 GMT2
In a world where anything can be patented and then subsequently
leveraged in a lawsuit, it should come as no surprise that the lawsuit-
magnet that is the iPhone has come under legal attack once again. This
time, Romek Figa of Abraham & Son has filed suit in Massachusetts
Will we see Inbound caller ID name?27 Feb 2008 17:02 GMT22
Is there a reason almost none (well, ok none that I'm aware of) of the
cellular carriers show a name with the inbound caller ID?
On my home phone, I see the name of the person calling on my caller
ID. A cell phone just shows the number.

How many users actually benefit from $99 unlimited?24 Feb 2008 23:18 GMT41
For the cost of one of those $99 unlimited plans (which will be about
$115 after taxes and fees), you could buy about 2150 minutes on a
prepaid network (at about 5.3¢ per minute). That's about 35 hours a
month. Other than certain business people, i.e. realtors, field service,
Text messaging rates increaase by 33%24 Feb 2008 18:02 GMT6
Just noticed an unpleasant bit on this month's statement:
"Effective 3/30/08, AT&T will charge 20 cents for text/instant messags
and 30cents for picture video messages sent or received on a pay per
use basis."
suspending At&T service for less then a month ?24 Feb 2008 12:55 GMT3
I am traveling out of USA for little less then a month (27 days). The
date of travels do not coincide with my billing cycle. Is it possible
for me to suspend the service during that period to save some money ?
I have the minimum iPhone plan - 39.99$ Voice + 20$ data.

EDGE on the iPhone22 Feb 2008 23:21 GMT1
EDGE on my iPhone is spotty at best.
Often for several minutes absolutely nothing will load, in Safari,
Weather, Mail, or anything else, and sometimes it loads quite slowly.
Other times it's perfectly fast (as in, as fast as EDGE can be).
Why did Apple choose GSM for the iPhone?22 Feb 2008 15:39 GMT62
The whole GSM vs CDMA debate is pretty much over for most of the
world, all you have to look at is the graph of the competing
standards:
