whenever i try to access this to make a payment regardless of the day
or time I get bounced to a real person (during normal business hours)
or a recorded message saying they are closed. if i press 1 for  the
automated system i again get the same thing.

I left AT&T several years ago because their coverage and quality in
Westchester County, NY (about 25 miles north of mid-town Manhattan) was
horribly poor. I am thinking of returning to AT&T on 7/11/08. How is the
AT&T service in my area? Perhaps I should try an inexpensive AT&T ...

I live in NYC - and have to be in Florida during the first two weeks of
July.  If I buy an iPhone while I'm down South, can AT&T (or Apple) give
me a 917-nnn-nnnn number??  Tks
