Just wondering if you can get rid of, or change the stupid startup
screen and tone. Under Phone settings, startup tone option is greyed
out, so I cant change it. Does Optus lock this?
Any way to disable it?

According to my calendar, it's time to start making a call
on each of my Orange prepay phones (ie with a local
number), to keep them alive.
But the rules changed in that credits have expiry dates.

Though the unit will predominantly be used in Brisbane, I require a
phone which will remain usable in regional towns such as Kingaroy and
Warwick. CDMA or is GSM OK? Which network?
