I tried to clear the timers and reset them in my call register. The
Nokia asked for the password. I thought it was the one that I set up
that has to be entered when it's turned on. But that doesn't work.
Is there a default password that may still be active that I can try?

There seems to be a few unlocking services out there that unlock Sim-locked
phones. Is unlocking a mobile without paying for the carrier to unlock it
illegal (in Australia) and will doing so void the warranties on these
phones. I guess I'm referring to pre paid sim locked phones. ...
