Doesnt seem to do GPRS or MMS?
Or am I missing the point here...  they are selling phones capable of a
service they don't provide?

Thanks to losi for the suggestion for this - I thought it was about time
there was an IRC channel that people from here (and elsewhere) can discuss
mobiles/mobile networks in Australia in real-time.
Anyway, it's at Austnet (/server au.austnet.org) and the channel is

my mobile phone reception varies at home (where i work )to the point
that my phone disconnects calls and misses calls etc.
i am with telstra and use motorola V600 phone it seems to have got
worse since recently switching to telstra although with optus it wasnt

  I have manged to set up the Sharp GX 30i phone for GPRS and MMS
send and receive ,after quite a few problems ,so I thought I would
post these as I see a few people having trouble.This phone is sold by
Vodafone and is not supported by Telstra.  These are my settings.

- the prices for most current models have gone up $20-30.

Does anyone know of ways of copying SMS messages from a Nokia 6385,
preferrably to a PC.  For those who don't know, the 6385 is a CDMA phone
and therefore does not have a SIM card.
