Why doesn't CDMA work in the city underground (sydney) when GPRS does?

Are there any $0 mthly access fee plans at the moment on offer, or any
no-expiry prepaid deals? I have a couple of numbers that I don't use but
want to keep.

Anyone in Newcastle lose Orange coverage this afternoon?
I phoned a friend who lives in a strong Orange coverage area close to
the Newcastle CBD and noticed that the ring tone was that of Telstra
CDMA.

I take a pretty dim view of computer billing errors, so I was peed off
when Simplus charged my credit card three times for the one payment I
made on their internet site this month.  I was even less impressed with
their reluctant offer to credit my bank "which will take three ...

they are charging $45 for the blank sim so that you can transfer the numbers
onto it

I wanted to buy one of those packs from Woolies.  They were very
reluctant to sell me one without buying a recharge voucher (already had
one).  I reckon the sales pitch they are using is a bit of false
