I personally like the advances with 3G technology and make a lot of use
of it.  But what about people like my mother that have only just grasped
the concept of using a mobile phone?
None of the 3G handsets I have seen around are made for the basic end of

As in stuff that more likely would be thrown out then used

Anyone know where one can go to find items that are more likely
to end up in the bin then fixed?

I have a SE Z800i.  I was using a standard Telstra sim in it, but have
recently changed to a Telstra 3 sim.  The battery life seems to have halved.
Has anyone else had this problem?
