manufacturer first and ask if it REALLY is covered by warranty.

Dodo prepaid mobile14 Jun 2006 16:07 GMT3
The dodo website is far from clear, so I thought I'd add some info here.
The 1/2 price rate is done by doubling credits on recharge.
I was pleasantly surprised to find that includes the initial credit,
so the $20 starter pack gives $40 nominal credit, good for 30 days.
USA emergency services13 Jun 2006 01:29 GMT2
As of mid-2005 .... These FCC rules require new mobile phones to provide
their latitude and longitude to emergency operators in the event of a 911
call. Carriers may choose whether to implement this via GPS chips in each
phone, or via triangulation between cell towers.

I'm new to Vodafone Prepay (the 'Red SIM').

Push To Talk dead04 Jun 2006 09:07 GMT11
I emailed 3 last week to ask them when they will introduce PTT.  Their
reply was they will NOT be introducing it for technical reasons.
Lazy bastards, this application has huge potential but they just can't
see it!
Telstra SMS - a technical problem04 Jun 2006 07:53 GMT24
I'm having a problem with SMSs sent via Telstra pre-paid SIMs.
Telstra is changing certain messages I send through them.
The default character set for SMSs is 7-bit.  This allows 128
possible characters.
