What does this mean?31 Jul 2006 12:03 GMT1
What does it mean when you ring a phone and the ring tone sounds 'tinny' ?

3G phone with good reception?31 Jul 2006 10:21 GMT19
So, is it just my bad luck or are there no UMTS phones with _excellent_
reception yet?
I've now had the chance to test out a Sony Ericsson K600i and a Nokia
6233, both tri-mode GSM and 2100MHz UMTS. Neither of them stack up
Mobile Number Portability29 Jul 2006 08:36 GMT18
I have had a mobile phone number for several years. It's valuable as many
contacts have it. However the plan it's on is expensive for making general

making calls at night time (Optus Flat-rate 22c 10 min ...
Samsung Z510 - Opinions?29 Jul 2006 07:51 GMT1
Telstra has as one of its "featured" phones, a Samsung Z510. I was

may that he or she owns one.
Or, if anyone else here owns one, what do you think of it? We've only

where to get a new battery (in Melbourne). Does anyone here know
if/where I might get one ?
(2) Also, if I get a new phone then what limitations would I have in

Now that all the main players have implemented some sort of 3G network
in Australia have any of them implemented Cell Broadcast?  I am on 3 and

Optus Prepaid - 1900 Numbers Barred?25 Jul 2006 08:10 GMT6
I rang Optus to find out why I couldn't dial 1900 numbers from my new
prepaid account.
I don't want to sound like a white supremacist, but I couldn't
understand a word the Indian Call Centre woman was saying.  Her accent

Dutch Vodafone SIM For Sale20 Jul 2006 15:32 GMT2
I have a prepaid SIM from Vodafone Netherlands that I no longer need.
If your travelling to the Netherlands, or want your friends and family
from the Netherlands to be able to call you cheaply on your mobile its
just what you need.  It might also be of interest if you're visiting
Telstra 3G - Bigpond starts in the background20 Jul 2006 08:21 GMT12
After looking over the forums I decided to dodge the 6820, and bought
an N70 on a $40/month Telstra plan (switching from an Optus Yes plan
after finishing the contract).
I've had the phone for a couple of days and am loving the features

My phone has started saying 'SIM card registration failed' when I turn it
