| A phone for here and the US? | 17 Aug 2006 22:08 GMT | 8 |
I'm after a bit of advice. I spend half the year here, and half in the US. I need a new mobile for here, as my old 5110 is becoming annoying (the screen has to be squeezed to show itself, and the battery - which is new - isn't holding charge).

| Questions on Optus Caps | 17 Aug 2006 10:49 GMT | 3 |
I had been on Vodafone's $79 cap plans and is annoyed with the reception. So am considering Optus Business Cap $89 or $149. I will probably go on a contract and sell the Nokia 6233 or 6280, as I use a HP RW6828. 1. Is Optus reception quality generally better than Voda?

I have a Sony Ericsson T628 which I lent to a mate so he could use it for a few hours with his own SIM card. Only problem is doing this seems to have purged the phone's SMS memory, thus wiping out a bunch of messages I wanted to keep. Oddly, everything else (phonebook, photos) is ...

| News article: Mobile phone industry should come clean [The Age 6/8/06] | 12 Aug 2006 14:23 GMT | 8 |
Interesting article. It seems to suggest that customers are getting a raw deal because dealers earn trailing commissions. About 50% of all mobile phone sales are through dealers, according to the article.

My son has an issue whereby he can't go into an Optus store (or any other for that matter). His is the name on the account which includes his, mine and his mothersOptus phones. It has been that way for many years even though I pay the bill. Anyhow, at my suggestion, he has been
