A phone for here and the US?17 Aug 2006 22:08 GMT8
I'm after a bit of advice.
I spend half the year here, and half in the US. I need a new mobile for
here, as my old 5110 is becoming annoying (the screen has to be squeezed to
show itself, and the battery - which is new - isn't holding charge).
Questions on Optus Caps17 Aug 2006 10:49 GMT3
I had been on Vodafone's $79 cap plans and is annoyed with the reception.
So am considering Optus Business Cap $89 or $149.  I will probably go on a
contract and sell the Nokia 6233 or 6280, as I use a HP RW6828.
1. Is Optus reception quality generally better than Voda?
Vodafone Nation Roaming17 Aug 2006 10:49 GMT3

Vodafone Customer Care today and they said it is only available at the
moment in Victoria and Tasmania, were when you are out of range on your

Any 3G Windows Based PDA/Phones?15 Aug 2006 15:08 GMT3
I'm looking at purchasing a combined PDA/Phone like the iMate and O2. I
really want one that runs Windows as I also need it for a software
development project. So far all the phones I've looked at are only GSM.
Given the obviously imminent switch to 3G I'd like to be able to buy one ...
Retrieving deleted SMSes from phone memory13 Aug 2006 12:09 GMT1
I have a Sony Ericsson T628 which I lent to a mate so he could use it for a
few hours with his own SIM card. Only problem is doing this seems to have
purged the phone's SMS memory, thus wiping out a bunch of messages I wanted
to keep. Oddly, everything else (phonebook, photos) is ...
Hutchison Three Prepaid number change13 Aug 2006 02:09 GMT2
I couldn't get any sense out of the Indian's at Three's so-called
"Customer Care", so I thought I'd ask here.
I am on Three Prepaid.
I want to change my phone number from the existing one to something
News article: Mobile phone industry should come clean [The Age 6/8/06]12 Aug 2006 14:23 GMT8
Interesting article.  It seems to suggest that customers are getting a
raw deal because dealers earn trailing commissions.
About 50% of all mobile phone sales are through dealers, according to
the article.
Master reset for 660010 Aug 2006 14:40 GMT1

How do you offer a Telco a site to build a tower on your land?09 Aug 2006 20:40 GMT11
Hi All, and I mean 'all',
I have a question, for any knowlegdable one, how does one get to speak to
the  section in the mobile telco's about the location of a mobile tower,
now before anyone gets their daily exercise and jumps to conclusions about
Where to take this Opus issue?09 Aug 2006 13:05 GMT9
My son has an issue whereby he can't go into an Optus store (or any
other for that matter). His is the name on the account which includes
his, mine and his mothersOptus phones. It has been that way for many
years even though I pay the bill.  Anyhow, at my suggestion, he has been
3G Michael08 Aug 2006 12:46 GMT28
Michael,
I noticed you have been active here (arguing again with Rod Speed) so would
you mind enlightening us about Telstra's progress with their 850MHz UMTS 3G
network?.
How to tell if a no is premium08 Aug 2006 03:40 GMT14
Given a mobile phone no, how can I tell if it is premium? Is there some
simple test? I've got a mobile phone connected to a PC acting as an SMS
gateway and need some reliable way to stop users entering premium numbers.
Thanks in advance.

in a period of time, (I am not sure how long) what I am asking can anyone
