What do you guys think? Should Apple have to accept competing vendors for iPhone

Firstly, why would anyone want to do this? I find iTunes to be a cumbersome and
slow program.
It'd be easier to simply have a directory on your hard disk full of your MP3s

Been reading a bit about the forthcoming release of the Nokia N97, a supposed
iPhone challenger.
