In response to your question about the Treo 650 on T-mobile. It WILL work once the phone is unlocked. I did this exact same thing because TMO tends to drag their feet in the way of new and cool phones. I bought the phone, unlocked it and put my SIM card in and it worked.

I noticed that on the back of my new Samsung T-509 there appears to be a
small circular cap.  Is this an external antenna connector?  That would be a
really nice feature to help with my reception at my lake cabin, which is in
a fringe area for T-Mobile.

Any chance T-Mobile will come out with a plan like the Alltel My Circle?
