How do I get a new phone activated?
(I'm the one who has been asking about an economical
phone that will work in U.S. and Israel.)

I've trolled around though various newsgroups and sprint seems to have many
less posts than say verizon's newsgroup.  can anyone tell me the relative
number of customers each major cellular provider has (ie sprint vs at&t vs
verizon etc.)?

Can anyone tell me about how the coverage for GSM with Cingular is in New
England (mainly MA).  I've looked at the maps, and basically most of my area
is covered (near boston) but parts of western MA look dead.  Even if it
looks dead on the maps, will Cingular be  able to go on ...

I'll be going to Ireland for a month in the spring and would appreciate any
suggestions on what to do about having a cell phone while I'm there.  I
currently have Sprint as my carrier but this doesn't seem to be an option.
Is it possible to get a throw away phone there for a month?  ...

Am looking for a sturdy phone that will work abroad, specifically in
Israel.  (Maybe also work when I return?) Have heard phones are much
more expensive there than in U.S.  T/F?
