Options for losing the landline13 Aug 2005 15:28 GMT5
I've been researching options for losing the landline - i.e. a cradle
for the cell phone that routes calls over my existing house wires for
use with standard telephones.  The products I've found are PhoneLabs
Celldock, CIDCO Cell Merge, Celldock 1000.  RCA also has a product but

Landline + Prepaid?10 Aug 2005 14:49 GMT13
On my "regular" cell phone account, I'm paying about 25% taxes.
I don't use that many minutes, but need the phone to service my customers.
The only reason that I don't go to prepaid is presrvation of the number that
I've had for over 10 years and which probably 1,500 people know and ...

7-eleven speak out Questions08 Aug 2005 20:53 GMT6
I've never had a cellular phone and never felt the need, but maybe now
is a good time to open the door?
I don't yak at all (just rarely to be honest) so the 7-Eleven deal
would be good for someone like me who won't be using it very much. I

Leaving self voice mail from Verizon phone?06 Aug 2005 07:27 GMT6
Before Verizon upgraded voice mail systems a few weeks ago, I would
often dial my own voice mail to leave myself reminder messages.  (The
meager 30 seconds for voice memos on my Nokia 6015i just doesn't cut
it.)  Now, though, whether I'm dialing *86 or my own phone number from

TracFone has a new procedure, implemented just recently,  for adding airtime
to the GSM models that use the Cingular network.   Adding airtime is easier
than ever before.   Now there is no need to call TracFone or log into their
www.tracfone.com website when adding an airtime card ...

A question about CDMA02 Aug 2005 21:10 GMT2
In India (and elsewhere?), all CDMA providers hardwire the ESN right
into the phone.  What I want to know is is why?  Why cant that be put
into something like the sim?   Is this just a marketing decision or is
there something technical that forces providers to do this?  India uses

Video call in USA02 Aug 2005 01:07 GMT8
I would like to make video call from a UMTS mobile phone in Europe to
