Phone for Suncom12 Dec 2005 13:17 GMT2
My son has a Suncom account, and he wants a camera phone. He is already
on a two-year agreement, so I don't see a way to get a deal on a phone
at this point. Is there an alternative to paying retail less a very
slight Suncom discount?
Tracfone:  only uses own towers/network ??12 Dec 2005 04:43 GMT9
I called the Tracfone cust. service number today to get some details
on coverage areas.  She insisted that Tracfone uses only its own
towers, etc.  Their coverage map of the Richmond, VA area shows much
more complete coverage than Verizon - especially in the sparse rural

I know these are available in the EU, and else where in the world, but
does anyone know where I can find them in the US.  I'm trying to
compare the price to using a laptop with a printer, and a cellular
modem card.  Thanks

My wife has tracfone that she just bought new and activated it. It's the
Motorola V170. Can we transfer the phone to Net10 later? She's using a
different tracfone service at present.
TracFone Changing Coverage Maps07 Dec 2005 22:29 GMT7
Heads up...if you have Tracfone you better check to see if you are
still in a home coverage area.
Many of the maps show changes now so what once was home coverage is now
roaming....effectively doubling the cost of your phone usage.

Lost Number on Tracfone07 Dec 2005 17:45 GMT1
I bought a Tracfone a couple of months ago and was reasonably happy
with it until the other day when I noticed that suddenly no one could
call me and I couldn't call out.  I called Tracfone customer service
and was told that, due to a "system failure" a bunch of phones in my
Cell phone comparisons?07 Dec 2005 15:17 GMT3
When one asks which cell phone performs better than others, the
typical answer seems to be "they all use the same chips so they're all
the same."
I don't believe that for a moment, as I've seen some phones that will

I am shopping for a new phone, and need the answer to a question.  I
want my new phone to synch with Outlook, so that I can have the
calendar and contacts from my office computer on my cell phone.
What popular (and cheap) cell phones synch with Outlook?  Does "synch
Propanol or disinfectant made insulation stiff?06 Dec 2005 13:38 GMT9
I disinfected the lead and microphone on my cellphone's hands-free
kit.  I used neat propanol and, separately, dilute benzalkonium
chloride.
I notice that the plastic on the lead is now quite stiff!
Web SMS services help06 Dec 2005 07:07 GMT2
I'm having trouble finding a reliable web-based service to send SMS.
www.ipipi.com and letssms.com are either not delivering SMS or only
delivering them very intermittently to networks they say are supported (UK
O2, Thailand AIS). Can anyone explain why this is happening, and ...
