Close by my home the state is planning to build a new 345-kilovolt
double-circuit transmission line of the type that sports giant 180-ft
steel towers.  As currently planned the new transmission line will run
to within 100 yards of the 150-ft cellular tower currently being used
Keeping same number going from post pay type account to prepay21 Aug 2006 00:29 GMT4
Can anyone tell me what carriers will allow you to keep same phone
number when changing from a post pay to a prepay account? Specifically
does VIRGIN MOBILE allow for that if you open a new account and and
want to cancel a postpay account with another carrier?
911 Emergency call gets a rude response?18 Aug 2006 15:22 GMT5
Last night I just called 911 on my cellphone because my mother fell
down the steps.  Whoever answered told me to "get f.cked" and hung up.
I thought 911 was connected to the police and fire dept.  I called on
my home phone and got an ambulance.  Mom will be ok, but I am really

Has anyone been able to do web browsing using Page Plus Cellular? Would
like to hear what kind of phone you are using to do it, what is
recommended, etc. I need to check ebay auction prices on the fly.
Anyone notice that you haven't been able to log on to your Page Plus
Cell phone will not "ring" in ear piece?15 Aug 2006 17:10 GMT1
I am frequently in areas with *loud* background noise.
I can't hear my cell phone ring over the noise (and can't feel it vibrate).
So I got an ear phone/headset and it works fine, except I can't hear the
cell phone ringtone in the earpiece!
Two questions about my new Motorola V188 that I bought on Ebay yesterday15 Aug 2006 15:32 GMT5
The first thing I did was ask Motorola, and you wouldn't believe the
gobblety gook they fired back.  Create an account, get a password, revise my
querie, forward it to the proper department, etc etc etc.  So I'm asking
you, since some of you probably know more than the Motorola ...

I have t-mobile and my phone is a nokia 6101. I recently purchased a

rarely ringtones I like.
My question is: how do you get the software from t-mobile/nokia so that
Motorola...Swindle-rola11 Aug 2006 14:51 GMT2
"Motorola is flying high these days as a result of the coolness of its
wireless phones, and also due to great revenues and profits. A sour
note, though, has crept up recently. The SEC is investigating the
company for possibly taking part in the Adelphia cable company scandal
Stealing Cellphones10 Aug 2006 04:56 GMT7
What is the best way to steal cellphones from people?
I often see people leaving them lay around, and I've had many
opportunities to just grab them and walk away.  But after I take them,
can they be traced back to me?  What I mean, do they have some sort of
Trailing Edge Phone10 Aug 2006 03:47 GMT7
I want to buy a quad band phone for travel only (a couple of weeks abroad
once a year), and I can buy one of the following unlocked quad band phones
on Ebay for $100 or less including shipping ("Buy It Now"):  Motorola V180,
188, 220, 400, 600.  All are either new or said to be ...
Qwest's Sanyo 3100 ?10 Aug 2006 01:51 GMT1
We're thinking of switching our cellular to Qwest and see that they offer
the Sanyo 3100 camera phone.
I asked them via their web page email, whether it has a USB port on it, or
whether there was any charge for transferring the pictures to my computer,
Nokia 2600 wakes up on its own?09 Aug 2006 12:01 GMT2
I just got a Nokia 2600 phone from Tracphone.  Every hour or so, the
LCD which is in powersave mode, turns on.  It scared the crap out of me
the first time it happened around 3 am.  When this happens, I also hear
some beeping coming from the phone.  It sounds to me like it is
