I need to switch from Cingular's TDMA to somebody's GSM and need a new plan and phone. Concerning the phone, how is Nokia 6030? (My previous experience is with 6650 (tdma), and 6610 / 6100 overseas. If 6030 is of comparable quality I can live with it.)

I'm visiting the states for 6 month, and I would like to get a sim card with an american phone number. My phone supports the 1900MHz band that is used in the states. I will only be using the cell phone very little, I just like to have it for emergency calls.

My father found two cell phones in a dumpster. The phones can't be used because we don't have a calling plan (the owner obviously canceled it). Is it possible to use these phones with Prepaid calling cards? Are there any prepaid cell phones that can be used with calling cards

On Verizon Wireless, I am charged by the minute for the small amount of data usage I make (Primarily HetItNow Accuweather). In the past, I've also tethered it to my laptop via a data cable and been charged by the minute.
