Cleveland, Ohio area coverage?20 Sep 2003 00:20 GMT1
Hi, I'm thinking of going Cingular. I would like to go the more
inexpensive Home plan if possible but I'm worried about "local
roaming". I would need included, non-roaming coverage pretty much all
of northeastern Ohio, especially Cleveland south thru

Why max 7-day life of voice messages on Cingular?19 Sep 2003 12:14 GMT5
I noticed that several of the messages I had listened to on
my voice-mail had disappeared, and learned from Cingular that
the messages lapse after 7 days.
Seems unusually short a time for messages to lapse.  14 days I could

I was told by someone in this group (and by a Motorola tech support
person) that I could download polyphonic ringtones for the Motorola
C331t phone.
Has anyone done this successfully?

Big Brother is listening.18 Sep 2003 13:38 GMT6
Legally it isn't possible.  Modern day scanners cannot listen in to cell
phone conversations.  While for the most part this is true it is not
true for everyone.  Older scanners can pick up cell phone chatter, in
the 800 and 900 MHz range.  Canadian scanners have no restrictions on

I use far more minutes than I think I use. Could Cingular be sending a
signal to my phone upping the minutes and making me think I'm using
more than I do? I'm not the only one who thinks this. I used the phone
a few times Saturday and next thing I know there is 1.28 hours on the

Cingular made up my mind.17 Sep 2003 03:48 GMT7
I called Cingular this morning and gave then an example of why I wanted
a GAIT phone from them.  Their response was that a GASIT phone would not
do me any good as some of the areas I am traveling through are not
covered by any cell phones.

Cingular TDMA in Bostom is Terrible16 Sep 2003 18:34 GMT3
I have no idea about where you live but Cingular in Boston is like Logan
Airport, constantly in renovation and too busy to service its patrons
properly.
I can't tell you how many times I had no opportunity to get an open channel.
