Problems retrieving voicemail while roaming + GAIT16 Sep 2003 16:42 GMT2
Used a GAIT Nokia 6340i while in Alberta and British Columbia.
The GSM coverage there was great, much better than in California. But
when I had been away from any coverage (like on a ferry) and got back to
coverage after 12 hours, the voiemail sign came on, and the message says
Phone advice16 Sep 2003 08:38 GMT1
I am currently in the market for a new cell phone.  I have narrowed it
down to 2, but open to suggestions.  I am thinking about either the Sony
Ericson T616 or the Nokia 6200.  Anyone have any suggestions about which
would be better?  I would like a camera, bluetooth, but it is not
GPRS in Houston = slooooooow. Other places?16 Sep 2003 05:30 GMT2
averaging about 32 Kb/s ... the T62u is only GPRS 3+1, but was
expecting something above 45-50 Kb/s (when hooked up to a PC). That's
how fast it was with VZ (T-Mobile) in Houston...
Just curious (as a new GPRS user), what are some actual data
Look what happens!!16 Sep 2003 02:45 GMT7
I go to L.A. for a few days, I come back and lookie here! My T62u is
pulling 4 bars of beautiful GSM signal in my apartment in Houston.
Gotta love that 800 MHz GSM signal, it's so not flaky like the 1900
MHz signals (here in Houston/Spring)...
That day is finally here for Cingular but was it worth the wait?15 Sep 2003 02:20 GMT2
Cingular has finally added gsm handsets to the San Antonio Area. Of
Course their prices are sky high and they do require a 2 year contract
=\ i recently switched to t-mobile because I was tired of waiting and
the 3650 I wanted was only 100 after rebates. Does anyone think
GSM in Houston/College Sta?15 Sep 2003 01:21 GMT1
Anybody know when GSM goes live in these markets?
Dealer mistake--can I cancel my contract?14 Sep 2003 16:48 GMT6
The Cingular dealer I ordered my service from hooked me with a $29.99
plan plus a 2nd line ("Family Plan") for $9.99.  My 1st bill charged
me 19.99 for the 2nd line and a call to customer service got that
reduced.  My 2nd bill was again 19.99 and this time I took the problem
Does Cingular lock the Nokia 6340i?14 Sep 2003 05:19 GMT2

WNP Question13 Sep 2003 23:36 GMT1
If I get a Cingular contract now and when my T-Mobile expires in Novermber,
will I be able to take that number with me?
What do you think of the S56?13 Sep 2003 14:46 GMT3
So far I have some rather good reviews on this cell phone, especially
regarding its RF.  On the other had, the SL56 gets very poor ratings,
for the same reasons that the S56 gets good ratings.  Funny how lower
end phone often beats the pants out the upper crust.
Wireless Internet13 Sep 2003 11:37 GMT6
Is the Wireless internet (3.99 plus minutes used) really worth it? I
would very rarely use the internet. Every so often I might go on to
check the weather (can also do it on my PC, or my Dish Network), or
maybe check a specific movie. Bigest reason for using it, would be for
Call Forwarding13 Sep 2003 03:50 GMT1
Call Forwarding comes with my plan, but can anyone tell me how it works?
If I set my phone to forward calls to a specific number, would it still
use up minutes on my plan? I know in October they have this unit coming
out that will have "Unlimited Call Forwarding", but will my ...
Which areas still sell TDMA13 Sep 2003 03:11 GMT1
in Detroit they no longer sell TDMA phones, which areas can you still
get one or where they still sell them regularly
Verizon says Sprint, Cingular drag heels on Number portability12 Sep 2003 18:11 GMT7
http://biz.yahoo.com/rc/030910/telecoms_verizonwireless_1.html
Verizon Wireless has been virtually alone in actively supporting number
portability, even though its rivals have said they are ready to
implement it by the Nov. 24 deadline.
