Cingular phone unlock?12 Sep 2003 04:46 GMT1
I just signed up with Cingular (via SBC, great deal - 20% off my monthly
rate and they knock an additional $20 off my DSL service thru SBC) and I
just received the Sony Ericsson T316 today. I had been using T-Mobile which
is also GSM, so I switched the SIM cards between the phones.
Actual coverage areas12 Sep 2003 04:07 GMT24
I live in Arkansas and wanted to change from sprint to another
carrier. Well I went to the Cingular web page and the coverage areas
are lets just say a bunch of hype.
They show coverage over the entire state. Ok sprint shows the main

Two years ago I was pulled out of my sleep by my cell phone going off.
I knew it had to bad as I had instructed people to only call my cell
during an emergency.  My sister called.  She had just seen a WTO
building burst into flame.  As we spoke I could hear a radio in the

Cingular to pay up.11 Sep 2003 16:24 GMT1
The state of California has cited Cingular for millions of dollars,
saying that Cingular failed to comply with trail period testing for
customers from 2000 to 2002.  California is also demanded a repayment of
all cancelation fees.  Cingular argues that what they did was lawful and

6340i service11 Sep 2003 06:21 GMT1
I am having some problems with the 6340i in the Raleigh area.  On
occasion, when I attempt to send messages, or make a call, I get
recorded messages from the AT&T isp.  Why?  No answer at the local
Cingular store. I assume this has to do with the GAIT function of the
Never the same answer11 Sep 2003 03:32 GMT11
I stepped into a Cingular store today, in Everett.  I spoke with one of
the sales reps about the T62U.  This chap stated that they had them in
storage but they couldn't sell them because Cingular couldn't make
figure out the billing.
6340i powers down by it's self10 Sep 2003 23:45 GMT8
I bought a new "in package" 6340i and have owned for over 4months.
Although the phone "overall" works great, it will shut down all by
it's self.  The conditions for shut down don't seem to make a
difference, either carrying it, or sitting on the table over night.
more WI questions10 Sep 2003 23:39 GMT1
I use Cingular as you can tell. I would like to know since Cingular
offers two services, is it illegal or against any Cingular rules to use
a free WAP server?

SMS to London on Orange network?10 Sep 2003 23:36 GMT6
I am unable to SMS to my daughter's mobile phone on the Orange network.  She
is in the U.K. for a few months.  I have tried various combinations of her
telephone number such as 01144779??????? and 44779??????? as well as simply
779???????.   All of these numbers result in a message ...
WAP10 Sep 2003 23:35 GMT1
Anyone know anything about Cingular and WAP? I am trying to set up my
Nokia phone for Wireless Internet without going through Cingular's plan.
I understand I will have to use minutes, but I wanted to use a service
such as WapTunnel. I just can't find the settings for my particular
Qiuestion for John Novas10 Sep 2003 20:26 GMT1
Of course all who know the answer feel free to chime in.
I see that in the Wireless Internet settings on my Nokia 6340i phone I
have an IP address, dial-up number, Home page, username and password.
All are specific to Cingular Wireless. Thus if I don't have Wireless
