SIM card22 Oct 2003 20:34 GMT15
I am currently on Cingular's preferred nation (TDMA) plan.  If I were to
switch to GSM Nation or Cingular Nation (GAIT), how much would a SIM
cost.  From what I understand, GAIT SIMs are similar to but different
from GSM SIMs.  I would more likely like to purchase a GAIT SIM, as ...
Direct Connect for Cingular?22 Oct 2003 09:03 GMT25
Does anyone know if Cingular has any plans to implement the direct connect
feature that Nextel uses?  I heard that the patent is about to run out for
Nextel, and other providers might start offering this feature.  Any
information on this is appreciated.
Full Internet Access or Portals22 Oct 2003 06:15 GMT2
Does Cingular still have a portal that restricts you to
only sites that pay to be listed on their portal?  The
old "garden wall" syndrome.

calls!
I believe Verizon is billed for retrieval only - anyone confirm?
CSD settings on T61621 Oct 2003 21:01 GMT2
For some unknown reason, I cannot get the CSD working on my t616.  The GPRS
works fine.  I believe I have the settings in there properly.  I can connect
to CSD with my Siemens A56 but I keep getting a connection failure during
the verification process immediately after dial up on my ...

Confused about coverage and upgrades21 Oct 2003 01:07 GMT12
My wife and I both have separate Cingular Nation plans on our cell
phones.  Her phone is a Nokia 6161 and mine is a Nokia 7160.  Both are
TDMA 800/1900 and Analog 800 according to the specs from the Nokia
site.  We live in the Birmingham area and seem to get comparable

Or is there something else to look for? (I understand it will not work if it
Is Cingular ripping me off?20 Oct 2003 19:59 GMT22
I got a new phone after checking with Cingular who said it would be fine and
there would be NO change in my services or fees.  I got the Nokia 3595 phone
from them.  Now when I make a local call, e.g. from the cell phone to my
standard phone in the same house, it's a TOLL call ...
