MMS10 Oct 2003 20:26 GMT1
Cingular MMS is reportedly up and running as of Oct 1, 2003, with a promotion
of unlimited MMS messages through the end of the year for $3/mo.  (You do
apparently need to subscribe to MMS for it to work!)
There doesn't appear to be any documentation of MMS settings yet on the
Upgrage Charge10 Oct 2003 04:39 GMT5
I got my bill today, and there was "one time $18.00 Upgrade Charge"
Anyone know what this is?  I just don't want to have to call now and
fight it.
help with Nokia 3560 and Cingular10 Oct 2003 03:53 GMT1
My mom is visiting and her brand new Nokia 3560 keeps playing the
William Tell Overture at random intervals. She is on a nationwide
calling plan, so she isn't under roaming. We have checked the calendar
for alerts or reminders. We have turned off every alert tone we can
Cell phones with IR?09 Oct 2003 23:13 GMT6
I have a Nokia 3360 (I think that is it) that has IR access, which I use in
conjunction with the Visor Prism.  I use the phone as both a modem (although
it only work where Verizon has network access, for some reason) as well as
just to transfer contact information.

Help me choose  3560 vs. V60i09 Oct 2003 07:36 GMT3
I am nearing the end of my current contract and will be upgrading my
phone soon.  Currently I am using a Nokia 3360 on a TDMA/Preferred
Nation plan (home is Alabama), but am intrigued by the "cool factor"
of the flip feature of the Motorola V60i.
Phone upgrade09 Oct 2003 05:37 GMT4
I am thinking of upgrading my phone from my current 3360.  I notice that all
of the new "more cutting edge" phones in the show room do not list service
with Amps or TDMA systems.  Only GSM/GPRS.
I am thinking that I should obtain a GAIT phone such as the 6340i while I
news: CINGULAR PLANS $80 Million UPGRADE!!09 Oct 2003 04:07 GMT10
CINGULAR PLANS $80 Million UPGRADE!!
In the second stage of an infrastructure upgrade, Cingular Wireless will add
more than 200 cell sites in Georgia to provide better coverage on its
advanced network.
Same plans everywhere?09 Oct 2003 00:41 GMT4
In a court case with Verizon Wireless the cell phone exemption of not
being a "Common Carrier" is being challenged.  Should this case against
VZW be won all cell phone companies will have to offer all their
customers the same great deals.
Cingular coverage09 Oct 2003 00:20 GMT2
Just got my first bill from Cingular (after 4 years with ATT) and have
noticed one shortcoming that I missed when making the decision to switch.
With ATT, nationwide coverage included Canada - Cingular doesn't.  Ouch!
Cingular's coverage map looked good, but I failed to notice that ...
Will the Nokia 6200 be selling in the DFW Area?08 Oct 2003 11:35 GMT1
I am conidering buying a nokia 6200 because of it 1800 mhz signal.  I
was wondering since GSM has already launched in the DFW area, but are
not selling the phones yet, that of they are going to sell the 6200?  Or
can I just call cingular to buy one if they dont sell them at the
Bluetooth GPRS settings?08 Oct 2003 11:30 GMT1
I have a t616, cingular and a bluetooth card in my laptop. Bluetooth
is working properly (i.e. they can "see" each other).
My cingular account has GPRS, Wireless Internet Express and Data
connect active.
Preferred Nation coverage in Mississippi08 Oct 2003 05:53 GMT3
I was wondering whether someone could shed some light on who
Cingular's preferred roaming partners in MS are.  Here is the
situation:
Cingular has B-side licenses for about 60% of the state, including
GSM vs TDMA Nation coverage...08 Oct 2003 03:25 GMT17
Eventually I will be forced to change from my TDMA nation to a GSM nation
plan here in south Alabama...around years end....Will I have the SAME
footprint of coverage?  Right now, I think any digital or analog cellular
tower works...will I have dead spots with NO ability to connect ...
