Is there such thing as a temporary, unlimited-use phone?07 Oct 2003 19:13 GMT10
I have a HUGE Cingular bill this month due to having
to make lots of calls (job-hunting).
Is there any way I can purchase a SIM, or rent a phone,
for unlimited local calls for a month or so?
Why is the 6340 so chincy?07 Oct 2003 08:04 GMT4
I have read up on the Nokia 6340/i and I'm not impressed.  It has a
tendency to crash when you least expect it, turns itself off (to save
power?), and the menu leaves very few extra options, from a standard
Nokia phone, other than to run a field test (providing you remember to
Motorola t720 ringtones07 Oct 2003 05:56 GMT2
Okay, I have looked through slews of posts and haven't been able to
find the specific info I'm looking for (to my own surprise).
I just bought a Motorola T720 GSM phone with Cingular.  I don't have
Wireless Internet (to my knowledge) and wouldn't pay to use it if I

Does anyone know when the Washington, DC area will be unbarred?  I had

Doggy wants to bite07 Oct 2003 03:11 GMT7
Here we go again.  Another law suit in the works, this one sponsored by
a self proclaimed California watch dog group.  False advertising of high
capacity while charging people high rates for leaving early- or so the
claim goes.

Before I get a big bill, I thought I'd better check with you folks.
I just got a new S56 from Cingular to replace my S40. I have found it
incredibly easy to get an internet connection via bluetooth and my
dial-up ISP. However, after cruising thru the various web info

This seems to be new term being used by Cingular.  Some of the posts I
have seen suggest that this means Roaming.
Status of gsm in Florida area06 Oct 2003 21:40 GMT2
Hi guys.  Is there any way I can find out how long it will be before
the Cingular system in Florida is upgraded from tdma to gsm?
Currently the phone I have does not support gsm, but once gsm

Cingular service in Chicago area is appreciated.
check minute usage with #646#06 Oct 2003 14:16 GMT4
I was reading the T-mobile newsgroup and they made a significant
"discovery". Instead of calling to check minute usage, simply press #646#
send and it'll tell you your minute usage.  Supposedly works on all GSM
networks.  Anyone at Cingular want to try?
Top 100 Cellular Markets06 Oct 2003 03:29 GMT3
Is there a list somewhere that indicates which cities/markets are the top
100 where local number portability will exist for wireless customers?
Thanks.

International Roaming 05 Oct 2003 02:18 GMT9
Does cingular have international roaming? For example i want to goto England
and want to use my phone there - what are my options? I will be there for
only a week so I don't know if going international roaming or buying a local
sim card would be better. Thanks
