Cingular -Wireless Internet Express Plan Question (help!)30 Nov 2003 22:50 GMT4
I'm considering switching to Cingular (Sony Ericsson T616) picture phone.
The Wireless Internet Express Plan ($6.99 for 1 MB) is confusing to me. Can
someone explain?
- Does this include sending photos to other cingular people (or is that a
Cingular Backdoor #30 Nov 2003 16:45 GMT2
For years I've relied on using this (even with PacBell) to have my home
answering machine "page" my phone.
Over the last week, it seems to have "gone down."  At least it no longer
functions.
6340i ISP and data plans30 Nov 2003 16:41 GMT4
I have a nokia 6340i phone and I have a standard cingular voice plan.
I have never signed up for wireless internet express or wap or any
data plan.
I got the DLR-3P cable and installed the phone as a modem - I used
Best RF performance30 Nov 2003 00:50 GMT1
What is the the best phone I could get as far as RF performance is
concerned for cingular. Current is not a concern, as long as it can still be
used and will work on GSM when they get all the areas completely switched
over (i.e., willing to buy one used).
suggest a GAIT flip phone that doesn't su*k?29 Nov 2003 03:51 GMT3
Greetings,
I'm actually a happy Cingular customer in the Chicago burbs... and am
about ready to jump to a new phone from the venerable old Nokia
5165...which is working fine for me--I'd just like something smaller.
Cingular in NYC?29 Nov 2003 02:38 GMT2
Cingular has the better deal, but I get the impression that Verizon
has better service (reception, dead spots, etc.) in New York City.
Also, does Cingular use T-Mobile's network in New York City?
TIA for any comments/recommendations.
Depends where you live29 Nov 2003 00:38 GMT4
Cingular is test marketing lower cell phone prices. Case in point
Sony Ericsson T616 phone.   Is it $149.99 or is it $49.99 ?,
both with $50 rebate.
Auto-update time penalty?28 Nov 2003 21:09 GMT8
I'm a novice to my new 6340i and just set it to auto-update date and time
yesterday.  No visible problem -- till (perhaps) I checked my minutes log at
"my account".  There are line items that I can't explain, ST = CL, Num =
111-111-1111, Period = DT, and Duration = 1.0.

Best Phone for Verizon & Sprint?28 Nov 2003 17:40 GMT1
Verizon and Sprint appear to be the least worst carriers in San Francisco.
What are their best phones in terms of reception quality.  I do not need a
camera, PDA, or any other attachments.  Thanks.

Switch Nokia 6340i to 680028 Nov 2003 17:03 GMT2
I currently have a 6340i and want to purchase a Nokia 6800.  I don't want to
buy the phone with a service plan, I just want to switch SIM cards back and
forth between phones.  Is this possible?
Siemens A56 - thoughts?28 Nov 2003 03:46 GMT5
Thinking of switching to Cingular and purchasing the Siemens A56 or S56.
Any thoughts on either?  I mostly like it because it's so small.  I'd
appreciate any feedback you can share.
Thanks.
Is Texas a GSM 850 area.27 Nov 2003 03:32 GMT5
Was wondering if there is any data that tells what frequency is in use in
which area.
850 Mhz seems to work better inside buildings.
T616 Data Transfer to PC27 Nov 2003 02:27 GMT1
I would very much like to transfer my pictures from a Sony T616 to a PC
using the USB Cable Accessory.  I suppose it will sync well with OUTLOOK,
but I want to transfer the pictures without an MMS phone call.
Can anyone please give me a tip?
Express Mail Network Edition26 Nov 2003 18:57 GMT2
The description of this service on Cingular's web site describes it as being
"Powered by Cingular's nationwide GSM & TDMA voice and next generation data
network."  It is described as a simple method of accessing MS Exchange mail,
calendar, contacts, etc.   The only function that is ...
