LOTR wireless parody17 Feb 2005 17:00 GMT1
Very funny comic. Shows Boromir "talking" to his Dad. Only for LOTR

Will a Nokia 6620 do mobitv better then a Motorola V180?17 Feb 2005 08:04 GMT1
Because of EDGE, and the better display? Or will it basically be the
same resolution due to the mobitv app specs? I am considering returning
my new V180 for something else. Just what else... the 6820 looks good
also, and it has edge. I wonder if edge will improve tv quality? TIA
Verizon to buy MCI, whither Qwest16 Feb 2005 18:45 GMT15
In quick response top the SBC purchase of AT&T, Verizon on 2/14 (early
in the morning) has agreed to by MCI, with MCI not wanting to deal with
Qwest. Qwest can't afford to buy Sprint; perhaps Sprint now will go
after Qwest instead to help shield itself from Bell South.
How long before Cingular retreats from Feb 13 price increases?16 Feb 2005 11:40 GMT33
Verizon just lowered the bar to get additional lines at $9.99; while on
Feb. 13 Cingular raised it; while raising the prices for messaging on
Internet connectivity, for which Sprint still charges $15/month.
It's almost as if Cingular was saying: "Verizon is gaining on us to be

Just signed up with Cingular and got the V551 phone. Being an ex-LG user
the menu is tough getting used to but I do like the phone and will get used
to it with some help :)
The problem I am having now is adding a voice name to my phonebook entries.
V551, inserting a pause in a telephone number16 Feb 2005 05:21 GMT6
I've been in the process of setting up my new Motorola V551 including
preparing the phone book.  Some of my calls involve dialing an extension
after the original number is dialed and answered.  On other phones I've been
able to program in a delay after the first number with one ...

I've called customer twice trying to buy a 64K sim. Both times they didn't
know what I was talking about (they said). My question is; if I buy a 64K
sim off of Ebay, can I call Cingular customer service and get it activated?

Cingular GSM in rural15 Feb 2005 11:41 GMT14
I'm looking for user experience with Cingular GSM only phones. I'm
curious how the GSM only is performing in rural areas. I have a GAIT
(tri-mode) phone and I am reluctant to give it up, but I want to go to
a GSM only PDA phone (Treo).
I'm Being Harrassed by a Fax Machine15 Feb 2005 00:56 GMT12
Several months ago, I began getting a call from a fax machine at all hours
of the day & night. I tried calling it back but I always get a busy signal.
I tried looking up the phone number in reverse directories and it comes up
empty. I called Cingular and the rep told me there was ...

Except US, GSM incoming calls are free? Right?14 Feb 2005 19:45 GMT5
I was wondering if I receive a call on my AWS cell phone in Mexico, is it
free incoming because its on Telcell's network, or only if I have a local
sim card? What I hope to do is set up a VOIP forward to my cell if it is a
free incoming call?

Does it cost to sent a numeric page using Cingular when you don't have any
Media or data packages?
How does one keep track of MediaNET usage?13 Feb 2005 19:50 GMT1
Is there a way to get the accumulated totals of the KB transferred since the
last billing cycle?
Cingular seems to provide feedback on minutes used but not data usage.
I am using the Treo 650.
