Cingular will activate TDMA/AMPS phones on prepay.12 Mar 2005 00:22 GMT4
In the other message where I said I was going to check with the
local stores to see if they will still activate non gsm phones on prepay.
They answer is a solid YES.
The first store I ask, said that they had jut got word from the "top" a
DTMF (I think)11 Mar 2005 21:15 GMT2
New to Cingular Orange with a V551.
I am a former VZW user and my question is about the tones that are sent on
link dialing, numbers with a wait in between.
I had an LG phone when with VZW and when I sent the second set of numbers
Cingular restoral fee.11 Mar 2005 20:26 GMT3
I transferred my single line to Cingular from ATTWS and added an additonal
line.  I was charged on my first bill $36 per line in "restoral fees" for a
grand total of $72.  I called and learned this was a mistake, and they
quickly removed them.  They were quite courteous about it.
Samsung X427M vs Motorola V18011 Mar 2005 17:54 GMT8
I currently have a Nokia 3595, but my wife killed her's a while back,
and she really wants a flip phone, and so do I.  So I am looking at the
Samsung X427M and teh Motorola V180 as they are both listed as free
online through Cingular for an upgrade from my current phone(s).  My
V551 Battery Life-What can I do?11 Mar 2005 16:48 GMT13
I just signed up with Cingular and both me and my fiancee got a V551.
After reading the reviews it seemed like the perfect phone.  Now that
I got it though it seems battery life is awful.
One thing I am discovering though is it seems not everyone has this
Another example of not integrating AT&TWS into Cingular.11 Mar 2005 07:00 GMT12
Cingular has decided on where almost $1 billion dollars in advertising
is going. They could decide between AT&TWS former partner Mediaedge, and
the folks that have been handling Advertising for Cingular : Omicron OMD.
So who did they chose? BOTH, they split the work. I guess its ...
Samsung SGH-Z500 for Cingular?11 Mar 2005 03:03 GMT5
I am doing research and saw there is a Samsung SGH-Z500 coming out
which supports UMTS.  It seems like one of the first UMTS phones and I
know Cingular is going to be providing that.  Will that work on
Cingulars system?  One thing I noticed is that is in the 2100 band.
V600 Flash Firmware?11 Mar 2005 03:00 GMT3
I recently had my V600 from ATT unlocked so I could give it to my son who
has Cingular service.  Although the phone works, the firmware is still ATT,
meaning there is still Mmode, etc.  Also the volume on the earpiece is very
low although it is set to its highest setting.  Any ...
Question about GoPhone11 Mar 2005 02:58 GMT6
I am going to be in the US for 6 months and
was told that I should get GoPhone from Cingular for that.
I have a few questions that I could not figure out from their
website:
missing text messages?11 Mar 2005 02:23 GMT1
Is anyone else noticing missing test messages?  I have my emails forwarded
to mobile.att.net and lately almost none of them are making it to my phone.
I just sent a couple directly to the mobile.att.net address (so see if the
problem was in the forwarding) and only half of them ...
Cingular charges to port numbers11 Mar 2005 01:25 GMT7

number they call it change phone number fee at 36 dollars
MPX220 Question Please10 Mar 2005 21:54 GMT3
I have a V551 and am thinking of upgrading(?) to the MPX220.  My main reason
to do so (though not only one) would be to sync with Outlook (without buying
extra stuff).  Almost exclusively for the contact list and appointment
scheduler,  Some of my Outlook appointments carry a note ...
Cingular in rural areas?10 Mar 2005 11:21 GMT2
Just got back to Colorado from the Ohio, Kentucky area. I had good GSM
coverage in major cities with my Moto model 66 but no luck in rural
areas. I suspect most of the rural Cingular areas use GSM at 850 Mhz.
The brain dead Cingular CSR's gave me their usual crap about needing
voice mail on/off?10 Mar 2005 04:34 GMT6
I was reading in a VZW forum that they found you can personally shut off
your voice mail by dialing *770 for off and *70 to turn it back on (not
available in all areas).
I know Cingular is a completely different system but was wondering if we
