Looking for a map of 1900 coverage24 May 2005 04:14 GMT7
I'm thinking of getting a Nokia 9300, a high end smart phone.It's a
tri-band phone, and although Nokia originally announced that there would
be a U.S. version with the 850 band instead of the 900 band, it so far
has not appeared. The problem seems to be that Nokia is unwilling to ...
V551 and Razr V3 --- Which one has better reception?23 May 2005 16:07 GMT2
Am trying to decide between the V551 and the Razr V3 with reception being
the most important factor as we are at the fringe of the nearest Cingular
tower.  Which one has better reception?
v180 vs v551 opinions?23 May 2005 04:22 GMT23
I'm upgrading from my StarTac on TDMA (you can tell we don't change cell
phones frequently ;)  ) to GSM and looking at the Motorola v180 and v551.
The 551 has more features than I need but it appears to get better
reviews in general performance and reliability. I'm only interested ...

Outage in Chicago21 May 2005 04:09 GMT1
FYI, there is currently an outage in Chicago. I wish cingular would post
information on their website about it. It would be less confusing. I
didn't even realize for a while that I couldn't get any calls.
I hope it doesn't last all weekend.
Buy from store, online, phone21 May 2005 00:51 GMT6
I'm a ATTWS customer who is going to "upgrade" to a GSM phone as my
current 4-5 year old Mot StarTac is starting to fade. I will still have
an ATTWS account since my wife's TDMA phone is still working fine.
Interested in pros/cons (leaving aside price differences) of buying from
Firmware upgrade21 May 2005 00:22 GMT11
I have a Nokia 6230 with Cingular. Very happy with the phone
except for a few software glitches.
According to folks on alt.cellular.nokia, the most recent
firmware version is 5.24. Mine has 4.43. Just got it in March. I
SIM Card Question Please20 May 2005 18:03 GMT2
If an AWS SIM card has already been used and the owner of the phone cancels
his service & sells the phone (with the SIM card still in it), can the new
owner activated a new line of service (AWS plan) and burn the new number
into the original SIM if a replacement AWS is not ...
cell phone interfering with electronics?20 May 2005 16:50 GMT12
I've noticed since I switched to GSM that my cell phone will cause a loud
noise on my speakers and tv when the signal bar gains or loses strength. Is
this normal? Is there a way to stop this from occuring?
thanks

Does anybody know where I can find information of ports blocked by Cingular
via a GPRS connection.  I am not talking about through the MediaNet proxy,
but just a straight GPRS connection.  I am trying to connect through a
Windows media stream using the MMS protocol running on ...

Of course, no current billing information was
Where to buy online ????20 May 2005 00:12 GMT3
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After doing a pretty exhaustive search for a deal on a Nokia 6230, I
have discovered that InPhonic has cornered the market. They are the
same as Wirefly, Letstalk, Nokia (online sales), Buy.com.....and ...
Can I buy a phone from Cingular?18 May 2005 19:32 GMT3
I think I read in a post here, that if you own your phone, you can get
service from Cingular month to month, without a contract. If this is true,
can I buy a phone from Cingular and use it, the same way, without a
contract?
voice mail questions18 May 2005 17:04 GMT7
I've searched this group and the web and been unable to find the correct
procedure for me, a new Cingular customer, setting up my voicemail for
the first time. If anything below seems odd please let me know. I'll
call Cingular for help again when they open on Monday.
