If I don't want to go with an edge card, but rather just an emergency backup
for those times when I otherwise cannot connect, is it possible to use a
standard connection as a slow-speed (9600 baud) internet connection? I seem
to recall that ATTWS prohibited that sort of thing ...

What are people's  opinion of the razr? Black or silver, doesn't matter

It used to be that "Wireless Internet" allowed 9600 baud CSD service as a
tethered modem and was charged to minutes.  It appears that has gone away
and one now has to use GPRS etc and subscribe to a data plan.  The
Cingular tech support guy said their cheapest is $24.99/month but ...

Have a new v551 (switiching from ATTWS. less than 30 days) that "froze"
today.
Phone has been working well and I like the switch from my StarTac (I'm
