Re: Option to help a person from NOLA one-on-one; Brainstorm: How can I/You/Me help those people in New Orleans   outside of money, gifts, and prayers19 Sep 2005 20:23 GMT18
Opportunity strikes when you don't expect it:  Larry suggested doing
something one-on-one.  Well, opportunity knocks.  The Peoria center has some
NOLA folks, and a number of them have come in looking for cell phones.  Some
needed a $100-$125 deposit (Nextel/Sprint), and they ...
Cingular Port Blocking on EDGE Network?19 Sep 2005 19:48 GMT15
It appears Cingular blocks certain ports on their EDGE network.
I have an EDGE wireless card.  It appears that Cingular blocks some UDP
ports and TCP ports.  When I establish an EDGE connection I cannot use a
specific application called "Echolink".  That application is described

Phone recommendation for new cingular account19 Sep 2005 10:55 GMT5
I'm considering an account with Cingular and I wonder what handsets you
would recommend?  My main concern is signal/voice quality.  I don't need
games/ringtones/music/video/pda.  I'd like support for a bluetooth wireless
headset.  A camera would be OK too, but not important.  Any ...

everything under the sun to remove this.  I've downloaded FExplorer and

Not one person interested to help family, Katrina displaced, in Peoria. Option to help a person from NOLA one-on-one; Brainstorm: How can I/You/Me help those people in New Orleans   outside of money, gifts, and prayers17 Sep 2005 05:31 GMT29
One person from New Orleans, 1000 miles from home, asked for help thru this
newsgroup.   Not one person, not even 1, thought this worth even a reply, or
offered to talk to this person and offer support for their state of affairs.
I called the shelter, and did what I could.  dr
Actually many do help; it just didn't work out for this one NOLA person relocated to Peoria.  Oh well :-(17 Sep 2005 00:59 GMT19
What some call cross posting; is just posting to the one "US Major cell
phone users."  My intended audience.  It is not like, I'm getting $ from

I'm done with my thought on this particular good deed, but will be happy to
